VideoPitcher is an online hiring and pre-screening platform that allows employers, recruiters, and HR professionals to create assessment sessions using text and video-based questions, share assessments via public or private links, collect candidate responses, and review submissions via an admin dashboard. The platform helps companies screen candidates efficiently before live interviews.

2. Information We Collect

From Employers/Admins:

  • Name, email address, organization details
  • Payment and billing information
  • Assessment content and candidate evaluations

From Candidates:

  • Name, email address, and basic profile details
  • Text responses to assessment questions
  • Video responses recorded during assessments

Automatically Collected Information:

Usage data such as IP address, device type, browser type, timestamps, and pages/actions on the Service. We also collect log files and analytics data for performance and debugging.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies:

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, and analyze site usage.

3. How We Use Data

5. Data Controller & Data Processor Roles

VideoPitcher acts as a Data Processor for candidate data. Employers/HR/Admins act as Data Controllers, determining how candidate data is used for hiring decisions. Employers are responsible for informing candidates about how their data is used.

6. Consent for Video & Audio Recording

By participating in a VideoPitcher assessment, candidates explicitly consent to audio and video recording. Candidates acknowledge that recordings are shared with the employer who created the assessment. Employers are responsible for lawful usage, storage, and deletion of candidate recordings. Consent may be withdrawn by contacting the employer or VideoPitcher support.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share personal data in the following situations:

  • With employers: Candidate submissions are delivered to the employer who created the assessment link.
  • Service providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (payment processing, video hosting and delivery, email notifications, analytics and performance monitoring, hosting) under contractual obligations to protect data.
  • Legal requests: When required by law, court order, or to respond to lawful requests by public authorities.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

8. Data Storage & Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including:

  • Secure cloud storage and CDN-backed delivery
  • Access controls and authentication safeguards
  • Encrypted data transmission where applicable
  • Regular monitoring to prevent unauthorized access

However, no system is 100% secure; users acknowledge inherent risks, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Personal data is retained only as long as necessary. Assessment data remains available while the employer account is active. Employers may delete assessments and candidate data at any time. We may retain minimal data for legal, security, or compliance reasons, and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., analytics, security).

VideoPitcher may process and store data outside the EU/EEA, including India and other regions. When transferring EU personal data internationally, we ensure:

  • Adequate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses (SCCs)
  • Secure infrastructure and encryption

Employers using VideoPitcher must:

VideoPitcher is not responsible for employer misuse of candidate data.

13. Children's Privacy

VideoPitcher is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If such data is identified, it will be promptly deleted.

14. Third-Party Services

VideoPitcher may use third-party services for payment processing, video hosting and delivery, email notifications, and analytics and performance monitoring. These services are bound by their own privacy policies that govern their handling of your data.

15. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected users and controllers as required by law. Employers (data controllers) may be required to notify authorities and candidates.
